They are used to extend the use of GNSS enabled technologies in to areas that have no clear line of sight to the sky.
Indoor positioning is utilised across an incredibly diverse range of sectors and the flexibility and option for bespoke adaptation means there are no limits to its potential applications.
Simple indoor positioning systems are used to track people and objects in defined areas such as isolated worker tracking in hotels or stock moving around a warehouse. However, advanced systems, such as VIPS, allow for dynamic and complex applications including autonomous vehicle testing in an underground carpark or crane safety in dense urban construction sites.
Our new VBOX Precision Ranging System (VPRS) uses the same industry leading UWB technology as VIPS, enabling you to accurately measure the distance between two objects to within ±2 cm in any environment, without the need for any complex survey or setup routines.
The VBOX Indoor Positioning System (VIPS) is a highly accurate way of measuring 3D position, speed and attitude (pitch/roll/yaw) in areas where GNSS is not available. Delivering ±2 cm accuracy and update rates of 100 times a second, the system is small, rugged and low powered, making it ideal for a range of applications.
